Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India is an emerging multidisciplinary Institute engaged in advanced research invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following positions in various sponsored projects. 

Position: 1; Senior Research Fellow (01 No) 

Name of the Project: SERB sponsored project “Development of Specific Inhibitor of Chikungunya Virus”. 

Fellowship: Rs.28,000/- per month+ @ 20% HRA 

Age Limit: The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 32 years as on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India guidelines. 

Essential Qualification: Essential qualifications are as stipulated by DST-SERB for a Senior Research Fellow. Candidates must hold a post graduate degree with first class in biological sciences or allied subjects and at least two years of research experience. The Project involves Cell culture, viral infection, Cellular cytotoxicity assay, Flow Cytometric Analysis, Western Blot and viral quantitative methods like plaque assay, RT-PCR, RT-qPCR etc. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Virus infection and anti-viral drug screening in cell culture as well as familiarity with routinely used Virus titrating methodology. Candidates with publication in this area will be preferred. For non-NET/GATE candidates, guidelines stipulated by DST will be applicable. 

Position: 2; Junior Research Fellow (01 No) 

Name of the Project: DBT sponsored project “Identification of interacting host and vector partners for Chikungunya nsP2 protein”. 

Fellowship: Rs.25,000/- per month+ @ 20% HRA 

Age Limit: The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 28 years as on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India guidelines. For non-NET/GATE candidates, guidelines stipulated by DST will be applicable. 

Essential Qualification: Masters in life sciences and allied branches and having secured 60% aggregate marks (50% for OBC/ST/SC) are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to candidates having NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE qualification with research experience in molecular biology and molecular virology. For non-NET/GATE candidates, guidelines stipulated by DST will be applicable. 

Position: 3; Junior Research Fellow (01 No) 

Name of the Project: DBT- sponsored project “Integrative genomics to identify the role of co-regulators in dendritic cell immune responses and thereby its impact on T helper cell differentiation”. 

Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- p.m. + 20% HRA 

Age Limit: The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 28 years as on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India guidelines. 

Essential Qualification: Masters in life sciences and allied branches and having secured 60% aggregate marks (50% for OBC/ST/SC) are eligible to apply. 

Preference will be given to candidates having NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE qualification with hands on experience in techniques such as cell culture, western blotting, Flow Cytometry (FACS), RT-qPCR or basic molecular biology techniques would be given preference. For non-NET/GATE candidates, guidelines stipulated by DST will be applicable. Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.

Super-scribe the envelope with "Application for the position of……..” .The joining against these positions will be purely on temporary basis and co-terminates with the project. Only short listed candidates will be called for an interview. 

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding selection of the candidates will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

3) Date & time of interview: 17.04.2018; 10:00 am onwards
