IOB Bangalore Bioinformatics/Cancer Biology PhD Openings 2018



Ph.D. studentship in Bioinformatics (1 position) 


Ph.D. studentship in Bioinformatics at Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB), Bangalore, which integrates multi-disciplinary expertise on biomarker research. The student will work on one of the following projects: Integrative analysis of high-throughput "omics" data, including (NGS), genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics identify diagnostic, predictive and prognosis biomarkers for cancer, development of novel methods to process NGS data, and construction of databases to manage biomedical data. 


Qualifications:


1. M.Sc. in Life Sciences or Bioinformatics 


2. Candidates must have expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting, and have experience with programming languages including Perl or Python.

3. Candidates must have secured JRF funding from CSIR-UGC, DBT and BINC

Ph.D. studentship in Cancer Biology (1 position)

Ph.D. admissions in Cancer Biology at Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB), Bangalore, which integrates multi-disciplinary expertise on biomarker research. The program involves the application of state of the art technologies to investigate biomarkers for bladder cancer recurrence and progression. This includes: identifying novel biomarkers, study the molecular pathology and understanding clinical phenotypes.

Qualifications:

1. M.Sc. in Life Sciences


2. Candidates with experience in cell culture, molecular biology and/or mass spectrometry are preferred. Selected JRFs will be involved in cell culture, molecular biology experiments, proteomics and cutting edge technologies including NextGen sequencing. 


3. Candidates must have secured JRF funding from CSIR-UGC, DBT and BINC
