Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following position on contract basis:
Name of the post Project Assistant / Fellow
Name of the project Sciurid response to changes in mountain systems
Description: The project aims to estimate document sciurid response (primarily genus Funambulus) to high elevation changes. The focus will be on mapping occurrence, and subsequently recording behaviours in specific populations over a period of three years.
Field work will include small mammal capture, handling, behaviour observations, surveys and transects. Candidates with field work experience in the Himalayas and/or prior experience with animal handling are ideal for the post.

Minimum qualifications Bachelors or Masters in any field or equivalent degree with minimum 60% marks or Equivalent grade.
Desirable:
Candidates having experience with small mammal identification, ability to do field work in tough terrain, GIS based analyses, 2 or 4- wheeler driving ability (license plus experience), spoken knowledge of Tamil/ south indian languages. Fellowship
Candidates who have qualified any of the national level tests like CSIR / UGC – NET / GATE etc. with valid score in score card are eligible for remuneration of Rs. 25000/- + 10% HRA per month (Consolidated).
Others will be eligible for Rs.16, 000/- + 10% HRA per month based on their academic qualification.

Tenure The position is temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years. The position is co-terminus with the project.
