IITM Workshop on Medical Biomaterials | 29-30 June 2018

Metals, non-metals, oxides and composites are used as medical biomaterials to augment or support the functioning of various body parts.

They have to be biocompatible, prevent bacterial adhesion, perform as desired and should not cause adverse reactions to the host. Selecting the correct material(s) for the intended use for the required duration is a challenge and it requires a knowledge of material chemistry, engineering and human biology. This is an interdisciplinary workshop intended to expose research scholars, clinicians, dentists, scientists and industry personal to lectures by experts in the field as well as expose them to laboratory facilities available for carrying out research in the area of materials used for biomedical applications.

Who should attend?
