WALK IN INTERVIEW
The National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR), an autonomous Society under
the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, is looking for prospective candidates for filling up
the Position of Research Associate-I and Junior Research Fellow at NCAOR under the scientific project
“Cryosphere and Climate”. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis, initially for a period
of one year. Candidates fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions are invited to attend a walk-ininterview
at National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research, Headland Sada on 31st May, 2018
(Thursday). The details of the posts are as follows:
1 [Research Associate-I]
Essential educational qualification and experience:
i) Master’s degree in Marine Science or equivalent degree in the relevant subject from a recognized
university.
(ii) Three years of relevant Research & Development experience in microbial ecology and
biogeochemistry of coastal supraglacial ecosystems, as evidenced by publication(s) in peer-reviews
journals.
Job Requirement: To play an active role in all facets of the Cryosphere project through participation in
polar expeditions, data acquisition/analysis/interpretation and publication.
1 [Junior Research Fellow]
Essential educational qualification:
(i) Post Graduate Degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Marine Biology from a recognized University
with a valid NET or GATE qualification.
Desirable:
Experience in scientific data processing and analysis.
Job Requirement: To play an active role in all facets of the Cryosphere project through participation in
polar expeditions, data acquisition/analysis/interpretation and publication.
General Conditions:
(Registration will start from 09:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. Interview will start from 10:00 a.m onwards)
Age Limit : Age relaxation will be as per GOI Norms.
Tenure : The post is purely temporary under the Project mode on contract basis. The
assignment is initially for a period one year or till the completion of the
Project, whichever is earlier.
