Job Description 
Applications are invited for the position of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored project entitled, “DEVELOPMENT OF AN IN VITRO SYSTEM FOR HEV PROPAGATION TO STUDY POLYPROTEIN PROCESSING AND EXPERIMENTAL INFECTION IN MURINE MODEL”. The project is carried out under the guidance of Prof. Deepak Sehgal, Head, Department of Life Sciences, Shiv Nadar University, Greater NOIDA, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh-203207. The project involves the construction of in vitro Hepatitis E Virus culture, expressing its non-structural enzymes and identifying the small molecule or plant inhibitors or antibiotics that will serve as putative drug candidates to prevent   replication of the virus.
Essential Qualification:  Master’s degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Science / Chemistry with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
Desirable: It is preferable that the candidate has hands on experience in minimum two of the following: Cell Culture, Protein Purification and Virology
Fellowship: Candidates who have qualified NET/GATE will be offered a salary of Rs. 25,000 + HRA. Candidates without NET/GATE qualification will be appointed as Project Assistant, if found suitable with emoluments of Rs 16000 + HRA
Duration of the Project remaining: 1.5 years

The department has 15 faculty, qualified from best labs in the world working on Virology, Cancer Biology, Malaria, and Plant Mol Bio. Etc. with around 30 PhD students and many JRFs and SRFs. The department has state of the art laboratories for doing any molecular biology, Biochemistry or Disease related search, the faculty runs both basic and applied projects giving recognition to all researchers, students or JRFs, in the publications coming out of their contributions in the research project. Interaction among faculty and the students help juniors to grow with innovative ideas and guidance.
