A walk-in-interview will be held for the selection of a JRF for a research project entitled “Validation and reparameterization of the additive AMBER force field for accurate modeling of modified RNA residues” and funded by SERB, DST, Govt. of India on 28th September, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the office of the Secretary, Faculty Council for PG Studies in Science, University of Calcutta, 92 APC Road, Kolkata – 700009. The research project will be conducted under Prof. Ansuman Lahiri (PI) in the Department of Biophysics, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Calcutta. The tenure of the position is one year at present but is likely to be continued till the end of the project (about three years). 

Required Qualification: Post Graduate degree with 1st Class in Biophysics/Biophysics and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Chemistry/Physics/Bioinformatics from a recognized university. 

Preference will be given to candidates with NET/GATE qualification and having a sound knowledge and experience in the techniques of molecular dynamics simulations, statistical mechanics and quantum chemistry. 

Remuneration will be as per the sanction of the funding agency (SERB, DST) and also as per the norms of the University. 

Upper age limit is 28 years for Junior Research Fellow as on the date of the advertisement, relaxable up to 5 years for Woman/SC/ST/OBC candidates. The candidate should bring two separate sets of complete application furnishing bio-data on plain paper along with attested copies of testimonials on the date of interview. The original certificate, testimonials and mark sheets are to be presented before the selection committee on the date of interview. No T.A./D.A. will be paid to the applicants for attending the interview.
