Walk-in Interview will be held for the mentioned posts under the DBT-sponsored project
"Genomics-driven Dissection of Susceptibility and Drug Resistance to
Pulmonary Tuberculosis, with a Geographical Focus on NER". The Project is in
collaboration with the Mizoram State TB Hospital, Falkawn and Synod Hospital,
Durtlang and the project personnel’s will be required to work at all the three centres as
per the need.
1) Research Associate (RA)- Two (02)posts.(Emolument: Rs.36,000pm+10%HRA)
Eligibility: Ph.D degree in Biotechnology/ Life/ Biomedical Sciences.
Evidence of working
with Mycobacterium or pathogenic organisms and with advanced molecular biology and
bioinformatics tools and techniques is a must. Proven track record of research experience
in terms of publications is needed.
Nature of Duties: Will be responsible for the establishment and standardization of the TB
lab, maintain Quality Control, Process and Maintain liquid cultures, perform and analyze
molecular and bioinformatics work. Will maintain and supervise Mycobacterium culture lab.
The RA should take overall responsibility of the progress of the project work and involve in
lab and projects reports as well as paper writing.
2) Junior Research Fellow (JRF) -One (01) post. (Emolument: Rs.25,000 pm + 10 %
HRA for NET qualified candidates or Rs.12,000 pm plus 10% HRAfor Non- NET
candidates)
Eligibility: M.Sc Degree in Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Life or Biomedical Sciences. Evidence
of research experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics techniques are preferable.
Nature of Duties: Will be responsible for the establishment and standardization of the TB
lab, maintain Quality Control, Process and Maintain liquid cultures, perform molecular and
bioinformatics work along with RA. Will collect samples (sputum/blood) and questionnaire
along with Lab Assistant.Will be involved in routine diagnostic culture along with RA and
Lab Assistant.
3) Lab Assistant (LA) –Four (04) posts.(Emolument:Rs.17,000/-pm - consolidated)
Essential Qualification - Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Technology or, Two years
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, or One year Diploma in Medical
Laboratory Technology with one year laboratory experience in a recognized institution.
Desirable – Training and competency in AFB smear, culture; handling of mycobacterial
cultures; Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and power point.
Nature of Duties – In addition to routine works of Laboratory, Technician should collect
the required samples for the project work (sputum/blood) and questionnaire, prepare
reagents for AFB smear and processing of Specimen, assist in culturing of the bacteria.
