NBRC Neuroscience MSc/PhD Admissions 2019

Ph.D. (Neuroscience)


Neuroscience is interdisciplinary in nature. So students from diverse academic backgrounds can excel in neuroscience research. Our current pool of Ph.D. students have diverse background such as Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Medical Science.
You will undergo one year of teaching programme, learning basics about the brain - from molecular to computational neuroscience and everything in-between. You will also get an opportunity to rotate in various labs to get a closer look at the research work, and zero-in on what excites you the most.
All the admitted candidates receive Junior Research Fellowship of ₹ 25,000 per month + HRA (in lieu of hostel accommodation) for the first two years. After two years, you will be eligible for Senior Research Fellowship of ₹ 28,000 per month + HRA (in lieu of hostel accommodation).

M.Sc. (Neuroscience)


This is a two-year programme. One year of taught course work programme is followed by a full time research project during the second year in one of the NBRC labs. You might be eligible to switch to Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme of NBRC. Click here for more information.
All the students are provided a fellowship of ₹ 12,000 per month + HRA (in lieu of hostel accommodation).
If you fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to our M.Sc. programme, you need to appear for Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences 2018 (JGEEBILS 2018). Selected candidates will be called for interview.
