WII Dehra Dun Phenology Project Opening

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Fellow for Project entitled “Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Soil Health through Microbial and Plant Communities in Alpine Ecosystems of Indian Himalayan Region- GoI-GEF-UNDP Third NATCOM Project” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Fellow is as provided below : 

1 Engagement Position Project Fellow (1) 

2 Essential Qualification (EQ) Post Graduate Degree in Botany/ Environmental Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Forestry with minimum 60 % marks 

3 Desirable Qualification (DQ) 

 Experience of field work on sampling Himalayan vegetation micro-flora / soil and nutrient analysis. 
 Phenocam based study of plant phenology and analysis of responses of plants to climatic variation. 
 Science writing and good communication skills. 
 Remote Sensing and GIS, Spatial Statistics, Climate modeling. 

4 Work description Required to assist in field research in the alpine ecosystems especially to conduct assessment of soil microbial health in the Indian Himalayan Region and other project related activities 

5 Emoluments Rs. 25,000 + HRA 

6 Age Not exceeding 28 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules. 

4 Funding agency UNDP and Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change 

5 Duration One year 6 Location of Project site WII Dehradun, with extensive traveling to alpine areas in the Indian Himalayan Region (Uttarakhand and Sikkim) 

General Conditions 
1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 2 nd November, 2018, followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview. 
2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications along with certificate of extracurricular activities; date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification. 3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
