Project Title: Development of genomics guided novel
diagnostic and targeted therapeutic strategies for gastric
cancer
Applications are invited for a temporary Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position to work in a
Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi funded Unit of Excellence (UOE) in Cancer Genetics
research project entitled “Development of genomics guided novel diagnostic and targeted
therapeutic strategies for gastric cancer”, to work under the guidance of Dr.G.Kumaresan, Principal
Investigator, Dept. of Genetics, School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University.
Essential Qualifications: First class M.Sc. / M.Tech, in Biotechnology / Zoology / Genetics /
Genomics / Biomedical Sciences / Biochemistry or related branch of life sciences
Hands-on experience in Molecular Biology / Cell Biology / Genomics / RNA-SEQ data Analysis is
mandatory.
NET/BET/GATE qualified candidates would be preferred
Fellowship: As per DBT norms
Duration: Until the project period of March 2020 / until DBT support / as per other conditions of
performance and assessment
Dispersal of fellowship is contingent with the release of the grant from DBT
Being an ambitious project, the deserving and hardworking candidates have the chance to get a
few co-authored international papers in a year.
