Essential Qualification 

i) First class Master’s degree in Microbiology/Medical Lab Technology/Bio Technology from a recognized university with four (4) years R&D/ teaching experience in the above relevant subjects. OR
ii) Second class M.Sc + Ph.D degree, both in Microbiology/Medical Lab Technology/ Bio Technology from a recognized University with four (4) years R&D/ teaching experience in the relevant subject after M.Sc + Ph.D.

Desirable Qualification and Experience 

a) Doctoral degree/Post-doctoral experience in Microbiology/ Medical Lab Technology/Molecular Biology/ Virology
b) Knowledge/ experience in Molecular Micro Biology / Virology
c) Knowledge of Bioinformatics

Emoluments Rs.48618/- + HRA Per Month

Notes For candidates with essential qualification [as in i)], PhD in the relevant subject shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

Nature of Duties Prospective candidate is a self-starter, with strong commitment, good communication and managerial skills and ability to work well under pressure and balance competing priorities in a demanding work environment.

a) To provide support for planning, managing and implementation of laboratory components of the project
b) Perform real time PCR and other Molecular analysis
c) Train and Supervise project personnel for various serological and bacteriological testing
d) Prepare/ Revise study protocols/SOPs/teaching and training materials
e) Supervise data collection, transport, testing, reporting, QA/QC
f) Prepare the technical reports on project activities
g) Contribute to organizing meetings/workshops/training programs
h) Responsible for best practices in the laboratory components of the project.
i) Responsible for Best Documentation practices in the laboratory component including maintenance of laboratory records, reports, inventory (logistics and samples).
j) Periodically undertake field visits to study sites / lab.
k) Coordinate with other scientist in the project for smooth implementation of the project activities
l) Incumbent will be responsible for timely correspondence/updates on all aspects of FBS with PI/ Co-PI and all others concerned on day to day progress of the assigned project activities.
m) Any other work assigned by the Director/PI/Co-PI/Supervisory Officer.

Essential Qualification Graduate degree in Microbiology/Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university with three years experience from a recognized institution. Or Master’s degree in Microbiology/Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution

Desirable Qualification 

a) Hands-on experience in clinical microbiological techniques as evidenced from work experience in recognized teaching hospital/ medical research institutions
b) Hands-on experience in molecular techniques viz. nucleic acid extractions, PCR/ qPCR etc.
c) Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Age limit 30 years

Emoluments 29,565/- per month

Nature of Duties Prospective candidate is one with good technical skills and strong commitment and ability to work well under pressure in a demanding work environment.

Post at ICH

a) Coordinating with other project staff to ensure appropriate and timely sample collection, testing and providing laboratory results within stipulated time lines.
b) Perform clinical specimen (CSF, Blood and other sterile body fluids, NP Swabs etc.) processing for point of care testing, bacteriological culture and identification, AST, PCR etc. as may be applicable/ required for the project.
c) Appropriate storage and shipment of specimens to designated laboratory.
d) Participating in EQAS and ensuring high quality of the lab work in the project.
e) Assisting the Investigators in laboratory research activities relating to the project.
f) Any other duty assigned by the Site Investigator /Co-Site Investigator/ Supervisory officer from time to time.

Post at NIE

a) Perform Processing of CSF, Blood and other sterile body fluids for conventional and molecular detection.
b) Perform bacterial identification and antibiotic sensitivity testing
c) Prepare media and reagents for above activities following good microbiological practices.
d) Perform specimen and culture archival
e) Maintain stock of lab materials received and submit regular stock updates and indents.
f) Perform documentation and maintenance of all laboratory records
