CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP 2019-2020 

Last date for online application: 11-03-2019 

Online applications are invited for selection of Indian nationals for Chinese Government Scholarship 2019-20, for pursuing following programmes: 

(i) Undergraduate programs, 
(ii) Master’s programs, 
(iii) Doctoral programs, 
(iv) General Scholar program and 
(v) Senior Scholar programs. 

2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:- 

(a) Qualifications and age (as on 01.04.2019):-

i) Undergraduate programs: applicant must be a high school graduate under the age of 25
ii) Master’s programs: applicant must be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35
iii) Doctoral programs: applicant must be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40
iv) General Scholar program: applicant must be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study when applying for general scholar programs
v) Senior Scholar programs: applicant must be master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs.

3. Other conditions: Candidates who have been abroad for the purpose of study/research/training, for the period of more than six months at a time either on a scholarship or on their own, are eligible to apply only if they have been in India for at least two years, after their return from abroad as on 11.03.2019.

4. 39 slots are offered under the Chinese Government Scholarship. Allotment of slots would be based on number of applications received programme wise.

5. Value of Scholarship:- Please visit Chinese Government website http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or www.campuschina.org for details of value of scholarship provided by the Government of China. Airfare: The Government of India will bear the International passage cost for outward journey i.e. from India to China only.

6. Submission of online applications: Applicants are required to apply online through Ministry of Human Resource Development portal http://proposal.sakshat.ac.in/scholarship by 11.03.2019. Applicants are also required to apply online simultaneously through China Scholarship Council website http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or www.campuschina.org .

Instructions for applying to China Scholarship Council application system is enclosed. Note: It is compulsory for the applicant to apply in both the portals i.e. https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login for China Scholarship Council and http://proposal.sakshat.ac.in/scholarship for Ministry of Human Resource Development, before the cut-off dates, failing which, would make his/her candidature ineligible. No hard copy of online application is required to be sent to Ministry of Human Resource Development.

7. Following documents need to be uploaded at the time of online application at http://proposal.sakshat.ac.in/scholarship :
(a) Self attested scanned copy of the mark-sheet, certificate, degrees, diploma etc.
(b) Where grades are mentioned, the candidate must upload the official explanation adopted by the University/Institution along with marks sheet/degree.
(c) Self attested copy of class 10th certificate bearing date of birth to be uploaded in the respective section. (Document size: the size must be under 530 kb for a single file. Applicant can make .pdf file or can zip in case of more than one document to be uploaded in a single place. A zip file is treated as a single file and it must be under 530 kb)

8. Selection of the candidates: The following criteria would be adopted for nomination of the candidates. The final selection would be made by the Government of China.
(i) For undergraduate programme merit list would be based on class 12 and class 10 marks. 80% weightage would be given for class 12 and 20% weightage for class 10 marks.
(ii) For Ph.D., Master’s, Senior Scholar and General Scholar Programme, the merit list would be drawn by giving weightage to Centrally Funded Educational Institutions (CFEIs)/Institution of National Importance and NAAC accredited institutions, from where the candidate is pursuing or completed his/her qualifying exam.
9. The candidates must keep the following documents ready:
a) All original documents in respect of age, qualification etc..
b) NOC/Cadre Clearance (in case of Government Servant).
c) Hard copy of application submitted at China Scholarship Council application portal.

Important Notes 

(i). The study of Chinese Language Course of about one year is mandatory before starting study in relevant subject in Chinese Language. The medium of instructions/study in China is Chinese Language, hence the candidates must keep this fact in mind before sending application for Chinese Government Scholarship. No request for exemption or waiving of Chinese Language Course will be entertained after nomination/selection and candidature of applicant will be rejected summarily if he/she is not willing to study Chinese Language in China. Many programmes are taught only in Chinese Language in the Chinese university/institutions. The applicants are, therefore, advised to choose the programme carefully.
(ii). Equivalent foreign degree will be considered.
(iii). Candidate is expected to have adequate knowledge of geographical situation, culture and heritage of China.
(iv). Canvassing in any form and suppression of any fact in the application will disqualify the candidature of the applicant.
(v). The final selection of the nominated candidates rests with the Government of People’s Republic of China.
(vi). The applicant in employment (to which he/she wishes to return) should have an assurance from his/her employer that he/she will be granted sufficient leave if he/she is awarded this scholarship during study period in China.

Your ‘Program Category’ is: Type A and ‘Agency Number’ is 3561. Once the correct ‘Agency Number’ is entered, the name of the agency will automatically emerge. Step
5: Fill in the Online Application Form and upload Supporting Documents truly, correctly and completely following the steps listed on the left of the page. Applicants are required to select a discipline before choosing their majors. Please refer to the Disciplines Index, which could be downloaded from Help, if you have any doubt about the disciplines and majors. Step 6: Check each part of your Application carefully before submitting it. Click Submit to submit your Application. The submitted documents will be the only reference for the applied universities to confirm the admission. Step 7: You can make changes to your application by clicking Withdraw and Edit the Application on the top of the page. But make sure to submit it again by clicking Submit after finishing all the changes. Otherwise, the retrieved application will become invalid and your new application will not be received either. Step 8: You can download and print the completed Application Form by clicking Print the Application Form. Step 9: Send the paper application form and other supporting documents to the dispatching authorities if they require you to do so. Please use Firefox or Internet Explorer (11.0).
