Summer Research Program 2019 at IISER Mohali

Applications are invited for the IISER Mohali Summer Research Program 2019. Selected students at the level of BSc (Second Year/Third Year), MSc (First Year) or equivalent will be able to spend 2 months at IISER Mohali during the summer in order to work on specific summer projects with IISER Mohali faculty. The principal objective of the program is to provide exposure to research methodology and a research environment to bright students. This exposure to excitement in different scientific fields is expected to motivate them to take up careers in science.

Dates: The summer program will run between May 15 and July 15.

The exact starting dates are flexible to some extent. Selected students are advised to contact their supervisors and fix up a starting date. However, a student's stay at IISER Mohali should include the period between June 1- June 30 2019.

Duration: The minimum period of summer research is one month and the maximum period is two months.

The Program: The summer program has two components:

(i) Research: which the student will carry out in consultation with his/her supervisor and

(ii) Interdisciplinary Course Work: which will involve a series of lectures to be delivered by scientists working in various fields. The course is scheduled for the month of June 2019 and all the students selected for summer program are required to attend it.

At the end of the summer program, students are required to submit a report about their research. All students who successfully complete the summer program will receive a certificate from IISER Mohali.

Accommodation: IISER Mohali will provide accommodation FREE of COST at IISER Mohali student hostels on sharing basis.

Food, Travel and other support: IISER Mohali will NOT be providing any fellowship/stipend/financial support for food, travel etc.

Students can pay and eat at IISER Mohali students hostel mess (approximate cost of ₹. 3000/month). Students will be responsible for their travel costs.
