UNESCO Category 2 Centre for World Natural Heritage Management and Training for Asia and the Pacific Region has been in operation at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun since 2014. The overall goal of the Centre is to strengthen the implementation of UNESCO’s World Heritage Convention in the Asia-Pacific Region with particular focus on natural heritage conservation. To accomplish the objectives of the UNESCO C2C, the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun wishes to engage suitable candidates for the post of: 

World Heritage Assistant: 02 (two) Post on contractual basis 

Applications are invited from citizens of India for ‘Walk-in Interview’ for engagement on the above mentioned post in UNESCO C2C purely on contractual basis for a period of one year, to be extended further based on performance. The EQ, DQ and other details are as provided below. 

A. Position World Heritage Assistant 

Duration One year (on contract with further extension) 

Essential Qualification (EQ) Bachelors’ Degree in Arts/Life Sciences/Zoology/Botany/Social Science/Technology/Engineering 

Desirable Qualification (DQ) 

a) Experience in having carried out ecological/ cultural-anthropological and socio-economic research work in any one of the World Heritage sites in India. 
b) Capability / knowledge in field data collection for biological taxa and socio-economic surveys. 
c) Demonstrated skills in computer applications 
d) Effective oral & written communication skills, especially in scientific/popular writing. 
e) Publications in journals / popular press in either English / any vernacular language or both. 

Age Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview. 

Emoluments Rs. 25,000 per month (Consolidated)
