One year JRF and postdoctoral (RA) positions for "Understanding and design of 3-D domain-swapping in proteins"
The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is a premier research centre carrying out frontier research in the biological sciences located in Bangalore.
NCBS is hosting a SERB grant to experimentally (through structural and biophysical characterization) understand the biochemical causes of 3-D domain-swapping in proteins. Applications are invited for one JRF position and one postdoctoral position at NCBS to EXPERIMENTALLY design domain-swapping in model proteins.
Qualifications for JRF:
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET qualification or Graduate (or Post Graduate) Degree in a Professional Course with NET qualification
No. of positions : 1
Age limit : 35 years

Age limit : 35 years
Both JRF and RA applicants should have demonstrated expertise in mutagenesis, protein purification and biophysical characterization.
Experience with protein structural characterization (X-ray crystallography or NMR) is desired for the JRF applicants and necessary for the RA applicants.
A strong interest in understanding molecular interactions in proteins and protein design is also preferred.
Closing date: last date to receive online applications is: April 22, 2019
Application procedure: Please send a CV along with list of publications and list of referees (1 for the JRF position and 3 referees for the RA position) to shachi@ncbs.res.in along with a brief statement (no more than 100 words) explaining why your skills and interests are suited to the advertised project.
