Summer Training Program 2019 at Department of Bioengineering, NIT Agartala
National Institute of Technology Agartala, located nearby the city of Agartala, the capital of
Tripura state, is a leading technical institute in North-East India. The Department of Bioengineering is one
of the vibrant departments of the institute catering knowledge in a broad and rapidly evolving
multidisciplinary field. The major thrust of the department includes biochemical engineering,
immunology, bioinformatics, industrial biotechnology and nanobiotechnology. The department of
Bioengineering, NIT Agartala is inviting undergraduate students of B.E./B.Tech in
Biotechnology/Bioengineering, or any other relevant discipline to participate in the summer training
program to be held in May ’2019.
Mode of training:
1. Introductory training in handling instruments in: Microbial cell handling and Upstream processing of
microbial cell.
Duration and Probable Time Period:
Department would offer training to the candidates in May 20th
–June 28th 2019, starting from 20th
May’2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm.
Application and Selection procedure:
Applicants are requested to send the original copy of the filled up the application form to the
department of Bioengineering, NIT Agartala before 12
th May’2019.
Applicants are requested to send a scanned copy of the same by e-mail before 12th May’2019.
A departmental committee will select candidates who will be intimated via mail.
The selected candidates will have to pay Rs. 6,000/- per participant. A demand draft drawn in favour
of Registrar, NIT Agartala payable at Agartala would have to be submitted to the department at the
time of admission.
Hostel Accommodation:
Hostel and mess facility may be provided, based on the availability, for the participating students.
Additional charges will be applicable for these facilities as per institute norms.
Certificate:
The department of Bioengineering will issue certificates to the participants upon successful completion of
training.
