Walk-In-Interview will be held for the position of a Project Linked Research Associate for an extramural project in National lnstitute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani. Project Name: Identification of recurrent somatic mutations in Gastric Adenocarcinoma in Mizo population, Northeast India [Funded by: Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India]. 

Research Associate (1) 

Nature of Duty To conduct exome sequencing and analysis of exome and targeted sequencing data 

36,000/- plus 24% HRA,

Until September 23, 2019 

Essential Qualifications 

1. Ph.D in Biochemistry/Human Genetics/Genetics/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/Biological Sciences or related discipline 
2. At least one peer reviewed publication as first author 

Desirable Qualifications

1. PhD in Cancer Genomics 2. Expertise in analysis of Massively Parallel DNA sequencing data 3. At least one peer reviewed publication in cancer genomics involving analysis of massively parallel sequencing data

Project Name: Enabling Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer throughout India The goal of this project is to develop a simple diagnostic test for breast cancer that is cheap, reliable and efficient for both diagnosis and monitoring. The basis for this test is liquid biopsy - isolating tumorsecreted vesicles or circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in blood and assaying their contents for cancer biomarkers that will inform both diagnosis and treatment. 

Postdoctoral Fellow (1) 

Essential Qualifications 

1. Ph.D in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/Biologic al Sciences 
2. At least ONE published research article in a peerreviewed journal 
3. Significant practical experience in RNA/DNA based Molecular Biology techniques 

Desirable Qualifications 

1. Experience in Tissue culture techniques, 
2. handling clinical samples 
3. Handling NGS data 
4. Good Ability to use written and spoken English 

Nature of Duty 

1. Collection and purification of endocytic vesicles from serum samples, 
2. Isolation of RNA/protein followed by transcriptome analysis and immunoblotting 
3. Preparation of sequencing libraries 
4. Assistance with data analysis 
5. Manuscript preparation 

Monthly Emoluments Rs 50,000/- (consolidated and fixed)
