The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) Position: JRF (1 No.) and Forestry college, Sirsi, UAS, Dharwad (JRF 1 No.)  

We are looking for dedicated candidates who are interested in registering PhD position at TDU. 

Project title: Development of sustainable technology for the production of anticancer chromone alkaloids, rohitukine and dysoline from Indian forest trees" 

Funding Agency: DBT, Govt. of India 

Duration: 3 years
Fellowship: As per DBT norms, Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA

Requirement: immediately 

Eligibility:M. Sc in life sciences with NET and Gate qualifications

Skills sets required 

1.JRF/PhD position at TDU under Dr. Mohana Kumara P

•  Molecular and biochemical techniques


•  Isolation, purification and structural characterization of secondary metabolites 

•  Experience in Chromatographic techniques like HPLC, GCMS and LCMS 

• Experience in RNA isolation, Synthesis of cDNA. PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, western blotting cloning and transformation. 


•  Bioinformatics like molecular phylogeny and transcriptome data analysis 


2.JRF/PhD position at Forestry college, Sirsi , Co-PI: Dr. Jagadesh 

•      Molecular and biochemical techniques

•      Botany and molecular phylogeny 

•      Micro propagation and mass multiplication: Tissue culture

•      Field work and Cultivation of plant species in agro-forestry mode. 

•      Isolation and purification metabolites 

•      GIS and Niche modelling 

•      Data mining
