Eligibility for PhD:
(i) Master’s Degree in Humanities and Social Science/ Management Science/ Science/ Engineering/ Technology or Master’s Degree in allied subject with consistently good academic record and minimum 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Master’s degree.
(ii) BE/ B. Tech with an aggregate of 80% marks or equivalent CGPA with GATE Score.
(iii) A fellowship in Chartered Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship from a recognized Indian or a foreign institution with not less than 60% or equivalent CGPA having a minimum of Bachelor’s degree.
Selection:
On the basis of selection test conducted by the concerned department.
Reservation of seats and relaxation of marks will be as per Govt. of India Rules.
How to apply for PhD:
Application forms along with prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Controller of Examinations , Tezpur University by paying Rs.300/-( Rs.150/- for SC/ ST) in cash or from AXIS Bank branches at Agartala, Aizwal, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Guwahati (Paltan bazar), Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jorhat, Kolkata, Kohima , Nagaon, New Delhi, Pune, Shillong, Silchar, Tinsukia and Tezpur ( proper addresses of the banks may be obtained from Tezpur University website) by paying Rs. 320/- ( Rs 170/- for SC/ ST) only in cash or (ii) by sending a request to the Controller of Examinations, Tezpur University, P.O.- Napaam, Tezpur, PIN- 784028, Assam with a bank draft of Rs. 350/- ( Rs 200/- for SC/ST) only drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur and a self addressed unstamped envelop of size 30cm x 25cm or (iii) by down loading from Tezpur University web-site (http://www.tezu.ernet.in/ ). Downloaded application form must be accompanied by a Bank Draft of Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred) only drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur.
