A walk–in interview will be held on 17.09.2014 for recruitment of two numbers of Junior Research fellow (JRF) and one number of Project Assistant for DBT-BBSRC project entitled “Molecular epidemiology of tick and tick borne disease, host resistance and development of novel pathogen vaccines” sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, at the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal – 637002. The post is purely on temporary basis and need based and they should not claim any regular employment at a later date. The service is liable to be terminated at any time without assigning any reasons thereof. The service of the persons so engaged will automatically stand terminated with the termination of the project. The duration of the project is for three years.

The details of the post and its minimum qualifications are as follows

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Two

Rs.18,000/- pm and HRA 10 % for 1st and 2nd yr. and SRF@ 20,000/-pm and 10% HRA for 3rd Year

2. Essential Qualification

(i) MBBS Degree recognized by MCI.

OR

(ii) Eight years R & D research/teaching experience in the area of Medical subject or Life/Biological Sciences including experience of publication/editing of scientific journals/books/bulletins in recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification (i) out of which at least 2 years in managerial position to handle R & D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.

Desirable:

(i) MD degree in any subject of Medical discipline from recognized by MCI  Or Ph.D in any subject of Life Sciences/Biological Sciences  from a recognized university for candidates with first class in relevant degree.
(ii) Additional Post doctoral research / teaching experience in any medical/ biomedical discipline from a recognized institute(s).
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/Data  Management.

Note: MD/Ph.D degree in subjects relevant to ICMR shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

3. Job Requirement

i) To plan, supervise and assist the Editor, Indian Journal of Medical Research ( IJMR) in processing, reviewing, editing processes and all other activities related  to the publication of the IJMR.
ii) To assist the Editor, IJMR/Head, Division of P&I in other activities related to the  Division of Publication & Information

4. Age limit

(i) Not exceeding 45 years as on 06.10.2014  (ii) Upper age limit is relaxable to SC/ST / OBC candidates & Government servants as per provision made in Health Research Scientist Cadre(HRSC) of ICMR rules 2007.

(iii) One time age relaxation is also allowed to Scientists & Technical staff working in  long term projects of ICMR Institutes/Centres as per HRSC Rules, provided they  meet essential qualifications and experience for the post with a view to provide  them opportunity to compete with other candidates as per Council’s letter No.  6/1/2007-Admn.II dated 28.03.2011.

(iv) Further age, qualification & experience relaxable in deserving cases as per HRSC rules (under Note I & 2 append to scheduled-III).
5. Pension will be admissible as per new restructured defined contribution Pension system, contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs ( ECD & PR Division), Notification No. 5/7/2003 & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004.

The TIFR Nationwide Entrance Examination (GS 2015) for Biology is also called the Joint
Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS).

ADMISSION PROCEDURE: The admissions procedure (in all subjects except Science
Education) consists of a written test at one of the several nationwide centres followed by
interviews of short listed candidates. The written test will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014 in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Haldwani, Hyderabad, Indore, Jammu, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkala, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Srinagar, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.

GATE score based applications In Systems Science (Including Communications and Applied Probability): Engineering students with exceptional performance in GATE examination of 2013-2015 in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mathematics may apply for the Ph.D. program without appearing for the TIFR Entrance Test. The link for GATE score based applications will be made available on our website on February 2, 2015. Last date lor applying will be two weeks after the GATE 2015 results are displayed on their website. In case a student takes the Systems Science TIFR Entrance Test and also submits a GATE score based application, the better 01 the two performances will be considered.

In addition to the admissions through this nationwide examination in December, some admissions in Physics based on GATE / NET / JEST scores are also possible. Details of these admission procedures will be available on the websites of TIFR Mumbai, ICTS, TCIS and NCRA, separately at appropriate times.

The Principal Scientist & Head intends to recruit one Senior Research Fellow in the ICAR-funded Outreach Programme : “Strengthening of Wheat Programme in Central India (IARI-Regional Station, Indore)” purely on contractual basis. The interview of eligible candidates for the above post will be held on 20th September, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at IARI-Regional Station, Residency Area (Near College of Agriculture), INDORE–452 001 (M.P.). The eligible candidate may appear in the interview under the project entitled “Development of interventions for manual load carrying on Indian farms”, PI: Dr. Adarsh Kumar funded by DST. The appointment is purely on ad-hoc basis up to May
2016.

Post: Research Associate (one)-Human physiology

Essential qualification: Ph.D in life science (Human physiology/paramedical/ biomedical) or Masters in life science (Human physiology/paramedical/biomedical) with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with three year experience

Desirable qualification: Knowledge of computer application.

Age: maximum 35 years (Age relaxation of five years of SC/ST & Women and three years for OBC candidates).

Emoluments: Rs 29900 (Rs23, 000+30% HRA ) per month.

Terms and Conditions:

The above post is purely temporary, time bound and co-terminus with the project.

Relaxation in age limit for SC/ST/OBC and other candidates as per government rules.

No objection certificate from the employer, in case he/she has an employment.
