Essential qualification
MSc (1st class) in Life Sciences from any recognized institute/university, followed by PhD in Biotechnology.
Area of Research
Microbial and enzyme technology
Desirable: Post-doctoral research experience in the area of biofuels/fermentation/primary and secondary metabolites; should possess research experience in the area of bioprocess and product development, protein purification, biofuels, etc.
Candidate should also possess sound knowledge on use/handling of analytical tools such as GC, HPLC, etc; proven capability as shown by high quality research publications.
Job requirement
Candidate would be required to take the lead role in the on-going program on bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass; should be capable of independent research on bioprocess and product development, especially for industrial fermentations.
Terms and Conditions
Selection would be done by evaluation of the bio-data of the candidates by the experts appointed by the Director, NIIST. The appointment would be purely on temporary basis for one year initially which could continue till the project duration (maximum three years) upon satisfactory performance. Selected candidate would have to give an undertaking that would not resign unless complete one year.
The monthly emoluments would be fixed between Rs 28000-38000 (fixed) based upon qualification and experience (an increase of Rs 2000 would be considered after each year based on performance).
