NOTIFICATION FOR ADMISSION to MPhil DEGREE COURSE – 2009
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to M.Phil Degree Course in the following University Teaching Departments
Bio-technology - 2 seats
Botany - 9 seats
Life Sciences - 1 Seat
Zoology - 4 seats
Eligibility
Candidates who possess Master’s Degree in the subject concerned or any other relevant subject approved by the Board of Studies with not less than 55% marks of this University or equivalent degree of any other Indian or Foreign Universities are eligible to apply for the same.
For OEC candidates 5% mark relaxation shall be given. In the case of candidates
belonging to SC/ST category and teachers under FIP scheme, a pass in the qualifying examination is sufficient.
Entrance Examination
There will be an entrance examination conducted by the Heads of the concerned
Departments of the University. The entrance examination shall consist of objective and descriptive type questions of 50 marks each. The duration of the examination shall be two hours.Candidates who secure 50% marks and above in the entrance examination are eligible for admission to M. Phil Course. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category need only 35% marks to qualify in the entrance examination. Teachers of affiliated colleges (under FIP Scheme) are exempted from the entrance examination.
The filled in applications shall be forwarded to the concerned Heads of Departments of the University on or before 06th August 2009 along with the original chalan receipt for Rs.50/- remitted towards fee to Calicut University Fund
