Science & Communication Workshop
21 & 22 September, Hyderabad
In keeping with our mandate to empower future leaders of Indian science, the India Alliance is organizing a two day workshop for young scientists in biomedical sciences.
Our goal is to encourage researchers in the early stages of their science career to build an independent research career in India. To enable this, the workshop will bring young scientists and senior mentors together to provide a platform for discussion and learning. This workshop aims at skill as well as perspective building for the most aspiring young researchers.
The workshop will address the following through experimental learning:
Grantsmanship communicating science through the written word
Presentation skills making the most of powerpoint
Building your career in Science choices and how to approach them
COMPETITION
The programme is structured for 30 participants and 7- 8 senior mentors.Participants will be selected via a pan-India competition. To be eligible you must be studying and residing in India, and be either in the last year of PhD or have completed less than 1 year from your PhD viva or equivalent exam.

Please note: If selected, shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a 1000 word science proposal by 13 September. Costs to attend the workshop will be borne by the India Alliance.
