Presently they are seeking a talented Bioinformatics Scientist to explore, evaluate, analyze and integrate genomic and molecular biology resources to help in drug discovery and development programs.
The incumbent will be a part of a multidisciplinary team of computational biologists, laboratory scientists, software engineers and will be responsible for:
  • Communicating and collaborating with biologists’ and chemists in basic research, preclinical and clinical research teams to understand their bioinformatics needs and evaluate, test and provide scientific solutions.
  • Analyze proprietary and public domain resources (including DNA and RNA deep-sequencing data, gene expression microarray and pathway data and chemistry assay data) and integrate those data with the existing data and software tools.
  • Maintain familiarity with external vendors of genomics and molecular biology tools and data to access opportunities and facilitate integration with internal bioinformatics tools.
  • Automate bioinformatics methods for data generation; development prototypes for data analysis and viewing tools; and work with software development teams to implement and deliver such resources.
  • Generate and run pipelines for bioinformatics processes and support automated pipelines for genome-science research, such as for human, yeast or pathogens.
Qualification and Experience:
  • An MS in computational biology, genomics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or related field or equivalent experience; 2 years of bioinformatics programming
  • Strong background in both molecular biology and bioinformatics.
  • A broad exposure to different types of biological and bioinformatics methods and familiarity with biological laboratory methods are required.
  • Familiarity with disease-relevant biology, including oncology and infectious diseases, or viral, fungal or bacterial genomics for bioprocess applications
  • Experience working in teams with software engineers and biologists
  • Experience with vendors; biology laboratory experience
  • Experience with deep-sequencing or microarrays
  • Experience with biomarkers for patient stratification.
Required Skill-set:
  • Understanding of bioinformatics and molecular biology
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Ability to interact with biologists and chemists to ascertain bioinformatics needs
  • Ability to find, analyze, and evaluate internal and external resources
  • Ability to help develop and implement resources.
