SRF Position in DBT Project

Project Enhanced ion homeostasis and its impact on saline tolerance in rice: over expression of two relevant vacuolar transporter genes NHX1 and AVP1.

PI : Prof. V. R. Sashidhar, Department of Crop Physiology, UAS, GKVK, Bangalore.

Duration : 3 years.

Qualifications : M.Sc. in Genetics and Plant Breeding/Seed Technology with minimum 60% marks or CGPA in aggregate. Experience in crossing work is essential.

Fellowship : Rs 16,000 + 25% HRA p.m. for the first two years and Rs 18,000 + 25% HRA p.m. for the third year will be applicable to NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualified candidates.

Rs 14,000 + 25% HRA p.m. for the first two years and 16,000 + 25% HRA p.m. for the third year for other candidates.

Nature of duties : The candidate will work closely with the other SRF and students in the project to develop co-expressed genes for salt tolerance in a single transgenic by crossing independent transgenics.
