Junior Research Fellow
ICRISAT invites applications from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a DBT-funded Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position.
Responsibilities:
- Executing field, laboratory and glasshouse experiments relevant to agriculturally beneficial microorganisms (particularly isolation, characterization and identification of antifungal actinomycetes)
- Testing various delivery systems for effective management of soilborne plant pathogens.
- Maintain and update electronic databases and statistical analysis of experimental data.
- Assist the scientist in the preparation of technical reports.
- Any other responsibility that may be assigned by the scientist in furtherance of the cause of the institute.
Requirements:
- M Sc (Plant Pathology/Microbiology/Botany/Plant Biotechnology) with at least one year experience in biocontrol aspects of plant pathogens
- Good proficiency in English communication skills (both written and spoken)
Period and Remuneration: The position is on a fixed term contract basis for 3 years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation as permitted by DBT is offered for the right candidate.
