THEME OF THE SEMINAR

The field of Marine Biotechnology is a newly emerging area. It is well known that the marine organisms produce a variety of industrially important metabolites. They have important role in different industries like food, pharmaceutical, detergent, paper, leather and agricultural sectors. And also they are very important in biodegradation aspects. In India, with its vast coastline, tropical waters and a high biodiversity, marine environment offers excellent opportunities for Marine biotechnology research.

Even though we isolated and identified lot of potential marine organisms for different field, we have the responsibility to search for new organisms for potential activities. In this context, this seminar will motivate the yOlmg minds to do the Marine Biotechnology research and also create awareness about importance of our marine environment.
