ADMISSION NOTICE Session 2013
Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to the Integrated Pre-Ph. D. Course Work for Registration to M. Phil. / Ph. D. Programme (on successful completion of Course Work) for the academic session 2013 to be offered by the following Departments of Assam University:-
A. Departments offering both M. Phil. & Ph. D. Programme (Silchar H.Q.)
21. Life Science and Bioinformatics,
22. Biotechnology,
25. Microbiology.
B. Departments offering both M. Phil. & Ph. D. Programme (Diphu Campus)
6. Life Science,
Eligibility Criteria : (a) Integrated Pre Ph. D. Course:-
(i) Candidates securing 55% marks or above or equivalent grade in Master Degree Examination of a recognized University are only eligible to apply for admission to One semester Integrated Pre-Ph. D Course Work for registration for M. Phil / Ph. D Programme of the University. Relaxation of marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories shall be as per Government of India Rules.
(ii) Candidates with M. Phil Degree from any recognized University with explicit proof of qualifying in the Course Work of minimum one semester duration having one paper on Research Methodology and obtained at least 55 marks in each paper separately can also apply for provisional registration to Ph. D Programme directly without pursuing fresh course work if selected in the Admission Test (Personal Interview Only).
How to apply:-
The Admission form may be downloaded from University website http://www.aus.ac.in and submitted along with an application fee of 700.00 (for General and OBC students) and 500.00 (for SC/ST students) through Demand Draft in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at Silchar.
Candidates may also collect Prospectus along with Application Form for the course(s) on payment of 700.00 (for General and OBC students) and 500.00 (for SC/ST students) from the Assam University cash counter from 24th December 2012 to 11th January 2013 on all working days up to 2 pm.
All filled in application form should be submitted to the concerned Head of the Dept. of Assam University, Dorgakona, Silchar (for the courses of Silchar Campus) and Assam University Diphu Campus, Diphu, Karbi Anglong (for the courses of Diphu Campus).

ast Date of Submission of Admission Form to the respective Dept. 17th January, 2013
Written Test 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. 18th January, 2013
Personal Interview 11 A.M. Onwards 22nd January, 2013
Publication of list of selected candidates 22nd - 25th January, 2013
Date of Admission 28th January, 2013 Classes will start for course work.
Reservation of seats for admission in respect of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates will be made as per GOI rules. Any other information regarding admission to IPP course may be inquired from the respective department, Assam University, Silchar.
