Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Research Associate in a DBT funded research project entitled "Identification of transcriptional regulators expressed in Mycobacterium tuberculosis during reactivation from dormancy in vitro, and identification of their target sequences" in the laboratory of Dr. R Ajay Kumar at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

Essential qualifications:

Ph.D. in Microbiology/Life Sciences/ Biotechnology. The project involves handling of virulent laboratory strain of M. tuberculosis. The candidate must be willing to work under strict bio-safety containment facilities.

Desirable qualifications:

Experience in molecular biology and handling of M. tuberculosis.

Age: Below 35 years as on 11th January, 2013.

Emoluments: 22,000/- + 20% HRA.

Duration: Three years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research project entitled "Identification of transcriptional regulators expressed in Mycobacterium tuberculosis during reactivation from dormancy in vitro, and identification of their target sequences" in the laboratory of Dr. R Ajay Kumar at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

Essential qualifications:

Consistent, excellent academic record with First class Masters Degree in Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Biotechnology with CSIR/UGC/NET qualification. Those candidates without CSIR/UGC NET also can apply. However, if such a candidate is selected, the emolument will be as per the DBT norms. The project involves handling of virulent laboratory strain of M.tuberculosis. The candidate must be willing to work under strict bio-safety containment facilities.

Desirable qualifications::

Experience in handling M. tuberculosis.

Age: Below 28 years as on 11th January, 2013

Emoluments: 16,000/- + 20% HRA for CSIR/UGC NET qualified candidates;

12,000/- + 20% HRA for others.

Duration: Three years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview.
