Appointment of Emeritus Scientists
Applications are invited for 3 (three) Emeritus Scientist Positions in BSI from outstanding retired Indian botanists to pursue Taxonomic Revisions under ‘Flora of India’ programme. The last date for submission of the application in sealed envelope at above address will be 30 days from date of publication of this advertisement.
Qualification: A Doctorate in botany and an acknowledged expert in relevant field actively engaged in research in the preceding five years as evidenced by overall academic standing and the quality of publications especially in the field of research proposed by the scientist.
Honorarium and tenure: Rs 20,000 per month and an annual contingent grant of Rs 50,000. The initial appointment will be for 3 years, extendable by further 2 years (in deserving cases) till the Scientist attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. The scientist may be provided with one or two Junior Research Fellow(s) of BSI.
Procedure for applying: Scientists willing to be considered for this position may apply in prescribed format through the Director/ Head of Institute/Department where the candidate proposes to carry out the research work with a certificate that the core facilities will be made available and permission for the Scientist to work on
the proposed scheme. Scientists can also opt for being attached to one of the nineteen regional centres, local offices or units of BSI.
