The Institute invites applications for the following completely temporary positions for its Sikkim Unit. Qualified candidates may appear for a Walk in Interview on February 15, 2013 (11.00 AM) at the Office premises of the Sikkim Unit Campus-Pangthang Gangtok, East Sikkim 737101. Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years. Relaxation for SC/ST/Women/PH and OBC as per Govt. norms.
Project: “Preventing extinction and improving conservation status of threatened plants through application of biotechnological tools” sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
1. Junior Research Fellow (01)
Initially for one year, likely to extended for another 4 years based on performance of the candidate.
@Rs 12,000/- (Fixed Per Month) + HRA as per Institute norms; @ Rs 16,000/- for NET qualified persons (as per norms)
First class Masters degree in Botany/ Plant Sciences/ Forestry/ Plant Biotechnology
Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working in Himalayan region.
• To conduct survey and establish nursery at field sites.
• Plant propagation (by tissue culture & conventional methods) & field establishment.
