Vth Workshop

Under the banner of the Dept of Biotechnology, Govt of India, the DBT-AAU centre, Assam Agricultural University is going to hold its V^th scientific workshop entitled "Biotechnological research in N E India: Present and future" during  Sept 18 – 20, 2014 wherein the DBT expects that scientists and researchers from all leading organizations of this region will participate and discuss about present status of biotechnological research in this region and design future research programmes as per the need of this region. Experts nominated by the DBT, Govt of India will attend this workshop as observers. The outcome of this workshop will be reported to the DBT so that potential research programmes can be generated for future funding. Status papers in the following areas from scientists working in different organizations/institutions of NE region are hereby invited on or before 31^st July, 2014.

1) Gene technology

2) Microbial biotechnology

3) Nano biotechnology

4) Biotechnology for economically important medicinal and aromatic plants

5) Marker Assisted Breeding

6) Plant and Animal molecular biology

7) Biotechnology for climate resilient agriculture

8) Food biotechnology

9) Bioinformatics
