SCAN aspires to be India’s leading centre for Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases, Research, and Industry collaborations. The centre has been set up recently to understand the molecular and pathological basis of aging and neurodegenerative diseases with a key focus on the following core areas.
Early/detection of diseases caused due to Aging and Neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s (PD) and Alzheimer’s (AD).
Creating Biological age profiles using blood samples.
Movement support- Assisted support for Aging/neurodegenerative patients - Tools/Product development.
Understanding the molecular mechanisms and development of therapeutics/tools against neurodegenerative disorders such as PD and AD.
- Position Title: Program Manager- (SCAN)

- Duration: (89 days / 1 year): 1 year

- Salary Band: PR-O3 (58800-109200) + 10000 OCA (if applicable)
- Job Purpose:
Program Manager will coordinate the center’s activities and functions to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the centre are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time limitations, or other specifications. Promote and coordinate centre research activities for community, businesses and individuals in order to increase the university's role in research. On the academic side, the manager will be responsible for effective curriculum delivery, achievement of departmental goals, learning outcomes and the meeting of targets and benchmarks. They have a key role in the development of a positive work environment – one that is innovative and responsive to student needs. They are expected to be careful stewards of Centre’s assets and effective managers of budgets.
- Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of work plans & deliverables of the projects.
Managing operational aspects of the projects.
Understanding the academic processes by interacting with the University’s academic office.
Co-ordinating with faculty members and students of the Centre for academic activities.
Assisting the faculty members in the assessment / grading-related activities.
Maintaining the repository of grades and academic records of all students on going and provide student support.
Liaise with external parties/vendors as required
Preparation of periodic reports, financial statements and recording of centre projects, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
Overseeing daily centre’s operations and coordinating activities through assigned staff; prioritizing and delegating work activities.
Addressing student queries on courses and activities of the Centre.
Strong interest to manage the centre.
Being the point of contact for all outreach related activities of the Centre.
Assist the faculty members in any extra-curricular activities of the Centre.
- Desired Profile:
Strong educational pedigree, preference for qualification with Ph.D. In Life Sciences / Neuroscience and related fields.
Minimum 3 years of experience with a strong inclination to manage the centre.
Co-ordinate and network with hospitals and doctors for MOU-related work.
Organizing and conducting seminars and exposure to academic activities or a similar role in colleges/universities/institutes will be preferred.
Prior experience in technical writing/proposal writing will be preferred.
Strong stakeholder management skills Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- General Information:
The position is contractual for a period of 1 year but renewable as per Institute’s guidelines and tenable only for the duration of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
