DBT - BIOTECH INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME (BITP) 2022-23
UNDER SKILL VIGYAN
BITP is a scheme for imparting practical industrial training for B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.Tech. / M.V.Sc./ MBA
Biotechnology and Bioinformatics graduates. The programme provides an opportunity for students who have
completed their education and intend to start their career in the industry to acquire practical skills and experience
working on projects alongside industry experts as well as an opportunity for the industry to identify potential
candidates for their human resource requirements.
Applications are invited from biotech students for hands on training in biotech companies for a period of six months.
The programme provides excellent opportunity to biotech students to acquire practical skills and experience working
on projects alongside industry experts. During the training, stipend will be paid to trainees as per the norms. The
programme is being implemented by DBT-HRD Project Management Unit at Regional Centre for Biotechnology
(RCB), Faridabad on behalf of Department of Biotechnology.
Eligibility: Students with B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech./M.VSc./MBA in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics and students
admitted under DBT PG teaching programme in Biotechnology with a minimum of 50% marks and who have passed
out in 2021-22 or 2020-21 academic session are eligible to apply for training program. Candidates appearing in the
final semester/year examination are also eligible to apply.
Mode of Selection: Candidates will be selected based on computer based test. Test would be conducted at multiple
centers across the country.
Mode of Application: Applicants interested in training under BITP program must apply online. Detailed information
on filling the application form, payment of application fee and uploading of required documents / certificates in the

Stipend structure: DBT will disburse a stipend @ Rs. 10,000/- per candidate per month upon successful completion
of six months training and assessment. Students will also get a minimum stipend of Rs. 9,000/- per month from
trainer companies for the period of training, as per apprenticeship norms.
