Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at NABI, Mohali, has been extending its services to
researchers for 12 years, and it was established by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT),
Ministry of Science and Technology in 2012. Our facility helps develop the analytical skills of
scientists, research personnel, and students engaged in R&D activities. We also offer training
programs on science and technology advancements to wide users across India.
Overview of the training program
The training program covers the basics of chromatography with mass spectrometry and also
performs experiments and hands-on training on LC-MS (UPLC-MS/HPLC-MS) and GC-MS
(Pyrolysis GC-MS) to enable users to separate, identify, characterize and quantify the mixture of
analytes. This training course also includes familiarizing the software and hardware of the
components of the equipment. The users will get the benefit of learning data interpretation
during training and a certificate of participation.
Scope of the training program
• Principles of chromatography and mass spectrometry technique.
• Salient features of method development.
• Hardware component and software familiarization.
• Sample preparation, batch setup and data processing.
• Data interpretation.
• Hands-on training on state-of-art LC-MS and GC-MS (independent instrument handling).
• Discussion and certificate distribution.
Registration Fee for Workshop:

Criteria and Eligibility of Training Program
• Educational Qualification: B.Sc/B.Tech/M.Sc/M.Tech/PhD degree holders and perusing
candidates may participate in the training program.
• Since seats are limited, the selection criteria of the participants will be purely on a firstcome, first-serve basis with the fulfilment of the above eligibility conditions.

• Interested candidates must fill out the registration form by 1-12-2024 via the Google form

to umesh@ciab.res.in mentioning the equipment name on which they seek training.
• In addition, the STUDENT RESEARCH SCHOLAR may need to submit the NO
OBJECTION CERTIFICATE and DECLARATION (formats available in the same
document at the end) by 1-12-2024 via email.
• Eligible candidates, after screening, will be informed by 3-12-2024.
• Only eligible candidates, after receiving the confirmation from NABI, Mohali should
deposit the fees within 8-12-2024 (payment confirmation should be shared
with umesh@ciab.res.in).
• Training will be held from 9-12-2024 to 13-12-2024.
• The money, once paid, will not be returned if the candidate wishes to withdraw his/her
application once they attend the training program.
• BRIC NABI also provides accommodation on a paid basis at ₹900/- per day, subject to the
availability of rooms.
