PROJECT VACANCY -SCIENTIST UNDER PROJECT NO. GP-477 

Walk-in-Interview on 27.01.2025 (Monday) (Advt. No. 11/2024, dated 27.12.2024) 

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for one position of Scientist under a project entitled “National Network Project of NIPER, Mohali” sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, GoI, New Delhi [GP-477]. The position is purely on temporary basis initially for a period of one year (extendable on yearly basis on the performance of the candidate for a maximum period of three years) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project. 

1. Essential Qualifications: 

Ph.D. (Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/ Biology/ Pharmacoinformatics/ Bioinformatics or related area). Candidate must have at least one research paper in a science citation indexed (SCI) journal. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis in the above subjects will also be eligible (along with proof of submission) to apply. 

2. Desired Qualifications: 

Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/ Data Analytics/ Bioinformatics/ Chemoinformatics/ Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD). 

3. Age limit: Below 40 years as on the date of Walk-in-Interview. 

4. Fellowship: Rs. 57,600/- per month consolidated (no HRA will be given). 

5. Tenure of the position: The above position is purely on temporary basis initially for a period of one year (extendable on yearly basis on the performance of the candidate for a maximum period of three years) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project. 

6. The candidate(s) who fulfil the eligibility criteria may appear for Walk-in-Interview to be held on 27.01.2025 (Monday) from 02:00 pm onwards in Room No. 209, Block- B, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER-SAS Nagar – 160062 (Punjab). 

7. Candidates appearing for Walk-in-Interview are required to bring duly filled application form in the prescribed proforma with latest passport size photograph pasted on it along with attested copies of testimonials / degrees / certificates etc. in support of the averments made in the qualification, experience and other columns in the application form. Candidates appearing for Walk-in-Interview must ensure that they are fulfilling the eligibility criteria. 

8. Only eligible Indian nationals should appear for the Walk-in-Interview. 

9. The application form can be downloaded from Institute’s website. 

10. Application fee as detailed below is required to be submitted at the time of Walk-in-Interview in the form of Demand Draft in favour of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh: 

i. Application fee for General and OBC category candidates: Rs. 500/- 

ii. Application fee for SC/ST/PWD/female candidates: NIL Application fee in other form will not be accepted. 

11. Candidates shall have to produce original documents/testimonials at the time of interview, failing which, such candidates shall not be allowed for interview. The original certificates / degree etc. of the candidate(s) are subject to verification before joining, in case of selection. 

12. Candidates with incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (i.e. self attested copies of degree / certificates / marks sheets / experience certificate / reprint of important publications, without photographs, signatures and prescribed fee) will not be interviewed. 

13. Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PWD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India, from time to time. 

14. In exceptionally meritorious cases or under special circumstances, the eligibility requirements of age, educational qualification and experience for the position may be relaxed. 

15. The process of selection may include presentation / interview or any other process as decided by the Competent Authority. 

16. The Institute reserves the right to withdraw advertised post at any time without assigning any reason. Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill post and its decision in this regard shall be final. 

17. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview. 

18. Confirmation for attending the Walk-in-Interview can be dropped at recruitmentcell@niper.ac.in with a copy to pvbharatam@niper.ac.in. 

19. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF CANDIDATURE.
