Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council-National Brain Research Centre (BRIC-NBRC) is an autonomous institute of Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Centre has ongoing research programs on basic brain functions and brain-related disorders.

BRIC-NBRC is recognized as an Institution of Excellence for neuroscience in India and is part of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, which is an autonomous body under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. BRIC-NBRC invites applications for faculty positions from qualified, dynamic and result-oriented scientists to carry out research in advanced areas of neuroscience, and those who have a genuine interest in teaching. Candidates should have a proven record of scientific accomplishment in the form of recent peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals of international repute, and experience as per the requirements of the position.

Current research at the Centre encompasses molecular, systems, computational neuroscience, and neuroimaging aspects of basic and translational neurosciences. Candidates with research focus in these and other multidisciplinary areas that the Centre will like to develop such as - system neuroscience (involving non-human primates, rodent and mouse model) and/or candidates with expertise in functional activities of the brain in health and diseased condition using multimodal approach (fMRI-EEG). Other areas of neurobiology will be given equal importance. The Centre encourages collaborations and has close ties with many National Research Centres and Universities, and leading hospitals of the region. BRIC-NBRC hosts state of the art behavioural core, in vivo recording from freely-moving animal including monkey or higher vertebrates, patch-clamp recordings from slice or primary cell, 2-Photon imaging with behavioural and electrophysiology set up, MRI/MEG/EEG and transcranial electrical and magnetic stimulation systems as part of the National Neuroimaging Facility and extremely well-managed animal facility with transgenic mouse, rat, songbird models and monkey. For more information about the Centre, please visit the BRIC-NBRC website.

The selected candidates will be provided shared laboratory space and adequate funds to start their research program. However, the faculty is expected to raise extramural grants to build and support their research programs.
