Essential Qualification: Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Botany / Biotechnology / Life Sciences
Preferred experience: Basic knowledge of Botany / Plant Biotechnology / Biochemistry and laboratory skills/ethics to execute/deal the experimentations
Emoluments:
(a) ₹. 31,000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET including lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE or those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Department like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions
(b) ₹ 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above
Job description: Selected candidate will work on the CSIR sponsored project, entitled “Development of improved Kappaphycus and Gracilaria variants for better growth & stress tolerance through a Non-GMO approach” in WP-02 under HCP0024 (III Phase) project. The candidates are expected to design/ execute the experiments as well as visit the seaweed growing sites for fulfilling the project objectives.
Age limit: 35 years as on date of interview (age relaxation as per CSIR rule).

Essential Qualification: SSC / 10th Plus ITI (Fitter/AOCP)
Preferred experience: Knowledge of routine laboratory work like glassware cleaning / equipment care
Emoluments: ₹ 18,000/-+ HRA for others as per CSIR guidelines.
Job description: Selected candidate will work on the CSIR sponsored projects. The candidates are expected to support/assist the execution of the experiment fulfilling the project objectives.
Age limit: 35 years as on date of interview (age relaxation as per CSIR rule).
C. Post code: PA-II
Post Name: Project Assistant II (PA-II)

Essential Qualification: Graduation degree in Science with Plant Sciences / Chemistry as one of the subject
Preferred experience: Basic knowledge of computer work and ability to support routine R&D work in laboratory working in the area of Plant Science / Biotechnology / Life Sciences.
Emoluments: ₹ 20,000/-+ HRA for others as per CSIR guidelines.

Other details:
Duration: This position is purely temporary, initially for one year and subsequently extendable based on work performance up to project duration, whichever is earlier. It does not confer any right or claim for absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI.
This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Laboratories/Institutes of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
Interview Details: Interested candidates should appear before the Selection Committee for an interview/written test at CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, G. B. Marg, Bhavnagar-364002 (Gujarat) on 21/07/2025 (Monday) at 09:15 AM in the institute.
