IISER-K Project Scientist Opening in DBT Project

Applications are invited for one “Project Scientist – II” position in Dept. of Biotechnology Govt. of India, funded project in the Dept. of Biological Sciences (DBS), IISER Kolkata, Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal 741246. This position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project duration. 

Project title: Understanding the role of the Type II MLA system in OMV biogenesis towards developing an effective vaccine against Campylobacter jejuni in poultry 

Principal Investigator (PI): Prof. Amirul Islam Mallick 

Duration: Initial appointment for 1 year, extendable for a maximum of 3 years based on performance and funds availability. 

Essential qualification: Doctoral Degree in Life Science/Chemical Science or relevant area from a recognised University. 

Desirable criteria: 1-3 years of experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations. 

Upper age limit: 45 years (Age relaxation for reserved and other categories will be as per Government of India rules) 

Work assignment: Project Scientist-II will provide administrative assistance/support to the PI in running the project, such as project-related purchases and documentation, communicating with funding agencies, maintaining liaison with collaborating institute, etc. 

Pay scale: Rs. 67,000/- plus 27% HRA per month (as per rule)
