for the following positions under the project titled “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bio resources
with human health and industrial significance.”
Project duration: Up to 31.03.2026 or the completion of the project as per GoI orders and based on annual
performance appraisal.

Doctoral degree in science or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a
recognized University or equivalent (PS-I)
Desirable
qualifications
Candidate should have completed a Ph.D. in any field of life sciences with extensive
experience in microbiology/pharmacy / molecular biology /marine biology / Virology /
natural products chemistry/drug screening/bioprospecting/experience in working highthroughput NGS technologies/biochemistry/purification and characterization of natural
products using LC/MS-MS / UHPLC / HPLC / proteomics / mass- spectrometry /
metabolomics, etc.
Candidates with experience in the above field and publications in
peer-reviewed journals are encouraged to apply.

Essential
qualifications
Candidates having M.Sc. / M. Tech / M. Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life
Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Virology / Bioinformatics /
Computational Biology / Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks
(relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) with 2 years of experience in research work
are eligible to apply.
Preference will be given to national-level entrance test
(NET/GATE/GPAT) qualified candidates. For non-NET/GATE candidates, the fellowship
would be applicable as per DST guidelines.
Desirable
qualifications
Candidates with more than two years of research experience in applied
biology/biotechnology/ drug screening/ bioprospecting/ microbiology/ proteomics/ massspectrometry or a related field of life sciences.
OR
Candidates will have hands-on experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS),
specifically 16S rRNA sequencing, as well as proficiency in molecular biology techniques,
experimental microbial work, and the handling of clinical samples.
OR
The candidate with computational biology/machine learning/database
development/simulations/programming or scripting.
