VACANCY NOTICE
Advertisement for various positions in the Structural Parasitology Group, ICGEB, New Delhi
Research Associate I, Project Research Scientist, Administrative Consultant, and Data Manager positions are available in the Structural Parasitology group at ICGEB, New Delhi, for multiple externally funded projects.
Investigator: Amit Sharma
Fellowship and Duration: Fellowship as per the norms of funding agencies. Initially, the positions are available for three months and can be further extended based on the performance of the candidates.
Educational Qualifications and Job Descriptions:
1. Research Associate I (No. of positions-1): A PhD in Biological or Chemical Sciences/ Life Sciences is essential. 0- to 1-year postdoctoral experience in the relevant field, with at least one research paper published in a SCI journal & laboratory experience is desirable.
2. Project Research Scientist (No. of positions-2): Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences and demonstrate relevant research experience supported by high-quality publications. Preference will be accorded to candidates with hands-on expertise in animal handling, parasite cell culture, and processing clinical samples. Experience with malaria parasite culture is especially desirable.
3. Administrative consultant (No. of positions-1): The candidate should be a graduate with demonstrated experience in research operations and the ability to manage complex logistics to ensure timely project execution. Preference will be given to applicants with one or more years of experience in administrative coordination or management.
4. Data manager (No. of positions-1): Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in database development and management, large-scale biological data analysis, and the application of data mining or data science techniques to biological questions. The role requires maintaining high standards of data integrity, optimizing data analysis workflows, and ensuring adherence to data governance and data-sharing regulations. Candidates should possess strong expertise in bioinformatics tools, high-throughput data analysis, and proficiency in relevant programming languages. Experience in scripting and using server-side tools for efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of biological data is highly desirable.
