A Walk-in-Interview will be held at 10.00 a.m. on 22/12/2025 for the temporary position of one Project Associate-I in the
DBT sponsored research project entitled “Bioinformatics and computational Biology Centre for Microbial Biodiversity in
Assam and Arunachal Pradesh” under the Principal Investigator Prof. Suvendra Kumar Ray, Department of Molecular Biology
and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur – 784028, Assam.
Qualification: Master’s degree in science/engineering disciplines with specialization in Computational
Biology/Bioinformatics/Lifesciences/Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/ Biotechnology/ other related subject having
NET/GATE or equivalent qualification.
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates having research experiences in computational analysis of genome
sequence, genome sequencing and annotation, or a similar field.
Responsibility: The candidate joining in the project is required to manage day to day activities under the project (maintaining
the genome sequence webpage) along with organizing workshops and training programs twice a year.
Fellowship: ₹ 31,000/- (Rupees thirty one thousand) only + 8% HRA as admissible per month.
Duration: Up to 11/09/2028 or till completion of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.
Age: Candidates shall not be more than 35 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per the
Government of India Rules.
Interested candidates may appear before the interview board physically at 10.00 a.m. on 22/12/2025 at the office of the Head,
Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University with all original and self-attested photocopies of
mark sheets, certificates from 10th standard onwards, caste certificate (if applicable), certificate of NET/GATE or similar
examination qualifications, experience certificate (if any), any other testimonials, a copy of recent signed Curriculum Vitae
(CV) and duly filled in application in Annexure-I (enclosed). Original documents of the candidate(s) will be verified by
the Selection Committee.
N.B. (1) No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
(2) Those in employment or doing Ph.D. must submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the concerned employer / Ph.D.

Investigator Prof. Suvendra Kumar Ray, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam,
Tezpur – 784028, Assam.
Qualification: Master’s degree in science/engineering disciplines with specialization in Computational
Biology/Bioinformatics/Lifesciences/Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/ Biotechnology /other related subject.
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates with NET or GATE qualifications and experience in computational
analysis of genome sequences (understanding of substitution spectra) or a similar field.
Responsibility: The candidate joining the project is required to manage the project’s objectives (Genome composition, codon
usage Bias, and mutation spectrum analysis of breast cancer genes in humans).
Emolument: ₹ 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand) only + 8% HRA as admissible per month.
Duration: Up to 28/09/2028 or till completion of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.
Age: Candidates shall not be more than 35 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per the
Government of India Rules.
