Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the posts of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for the ICMR-funded project in the School of Bio Sciences & Technology (SBST), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)-Vellore- 632014, Tamil Nadu.
Title of the Project : Development of pitcher plant-inspired liquid-infused and multi-modal bioselective implant coatings for combating implant-associated infections and bone losses (File No. EMDR/IG/14/2025-00837, Dt. 28.01.2026).
Qualification : First class in Post-Graduate (PG) degree including integrated PG degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Biomedical Science or related disciplines from nationally recognized university. Candidates with post-PG research experience of more than 2 years from a reputed academic and research institute will be given preference.
Mandatory Skills : Hands-on experience in Molecular biology techniques like qPCR, high-throughput data analysis, biophysical techniques, handling animals, in addition to skills in synthetic chemistry, material coating and testing, spectroscopic characterization, fabrication of advanced coatings, microbiology, cell culture, and computational simulations (e.g. molecular docking and molecular dynamics).
Stipend : Rs. 56,000/- + 10% HRA per month, stipend will be as per Institute norms.
