CALL FOR RESEARCH SCHOLARS FOR A Cross-Disciplinary
Research Framework (CDRF) PROJECT
Applications are invited from qualified Research Scholars (PhD aspirants) to work a sponsored project
under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Nishith Gupta, Intracellular Parasite Education and Research Labs
(www.iPEARL.org), Department of Biological Sciences, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.
Project: Identification of therapeutic targets and AI-based drug repurposing in parasitic protists
Open Positions: 1 research scholar
Duration: 3 Years (1+2 years)
Fellowship amount: 37000 INR/month
Eligibility requirements: M.Sc. or M. Tech. in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computational
Biology, AI-ML-DL to address biological questions (wet-lab research experience will be a plus)
Scope of Work: Protein structure modeling, Protein-drug interactions; in silico drug library screening,
mutagenesis-based protein evolution, AI-ML-based lead optimization & repurposing, standard
bioinformatics and computational biology.
The candidates aspiring to undertake the doctoral/PhD research can submit the application, including a
cover letter, detailed CV, work experience, two recommendation letter, and publications (if any) by March

Only selected individuals will be invited to appear for a virtual and/or physical interview to be held at BITSPilani, Hyderabad Campus, in March 2026.
There is no provision for refunding travel costs for an interview.
It is expected that all applicants visit the research group portal (www.ipearl.org) and review the previous
research and mutual expectations before drafting and submitting the application. Selected candidates may
register for the PhD program at BITS-Pilani, subject to meeting the requirements.
