Essential qualifications M.Sc. in Botany with minimum 55% percentage
Desirable qualifications
1. Research experience in agriculture/ Plant Physiology/Plant Biotechnology/ Field Crop Biology
2. Experience with agriculture field experiments
Monthly Emoluments Rs. 20,000/- + 30% HRA per month

Other important Points: The prescribed educational qualifications and experience are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be selected. The above advertised positions are filled up purely on temporary basis for the limited duration on the project funded by funding agency. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in funding agency or in Bajaj College of Science, Wardha. Canvassing in any form / bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification for the post.
Expected job requirement during the project tenure Applicants must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year, as field experiments will be conducted across multiple growing seasons. The role involves substantial activity, including planting, weeding, irrigation, and manual harvesting of medicinal plant species. Candidates should be competent performing these tasks regularly. The work includes nursery and soil preparation, plant management, pest control, and monitoring plant growth. Applicants will be expected to handle agricultural tools, and travel for collection of plants from field (whenever necessary) during these tasks. During key agricultural periods such as planting, growing, and harvesting seasons, auxiliary working hours may be required to ensure timely completion of field tasks. Candidates will collect phenological, morphological, and agronomic data in the field, often requiring reasonable standing, walking, or kneeling. The job involves interaction with local farmers and participation in on-site training sessions for promoting medicinal plant farming practices. Candidates will process plant samples and conduct biochemical assays to assess the concentration of bioactive compounds, requiring careful handling and documentation.
