Applications are invited from eligible candidates for one (01) position of Technical Assistant (TA) in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, funded project under Dr. Deepak Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Project Title Decoding the Roles of Prion-Like SEUSS Proteins in Thermosensory Responses in Potato (Solanum tuberosum)
Project Description This project investigates the prion-like properties of the potato SEUSS protein (StSEU) and its role in thermosensory responses. The study integrates computational biology, molecular biology, yeast assays, and transgenic approaches to understand how StSEU regulates heat stress adaptation and developmental plasticity in potato.

Job Role The TA will assist in routine laboratory work, sample, media and reagent preparation, plant handling and record maintenance.
Project Duration Three (03) years
Fellowship Rs. 20,000/- per month + 18% HRA for three (03) years
Age Limit As per the DBT guidelines
Essential Qualifications
B.Sc. degree in Botany / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Environmental Science / Life Science / Bioscience or any other allied subject with at least 55% or equivalent marks. Candidates with higher qualifications may also apply.
