Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF- 02) to work on the Department of Biotechnology (GOI) funded research project “Plant-Based Biomanufacturing: Engineering Synthetic Operons in Chloroplasts for Scalable Production of Cellulase, Mannanase, and Lipase”
• These positions will be based at Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU). The post is purely temporary and coterminates with project.

Project title Plant-Based Biomanufacturing: Engineering Synthetic Operons in Chloroplasts for Scalable Production of Cellulase, Mannanase, and Lipase
Minimum Qualifications:
M. Sc. in any branch of biological sciences from any reputed university with NET / GATE qualified. Candidate with DBT- category – I and II are eligible as per funding agency rules.
Desirable Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines with strong academic records.
• Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, plasmid/vector construction, PCR, qRT-PCR, and recombinant DNA techniques.
• Experience in plant tissue culture, chloroplast transformation, agroinfiltration, or transplastomic approaches will be preferred.
• Knowledge of synthetic biology, operon engineering, metabolic engineering, and gene expression analysis in plants.
• Familiarity with protein expression, enzyme assays and biochemical characterization.
• Experience in bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis, codon optimization, primer design, and construct assembly is desirable.
• Candidates with exposure to CRISPR/genome editing, confocal microscopy, fermentation, or downstream bioprocessing will have an added advantage.
• Strong scientific writing, communication skills, and motivation for interdisciplinary research are essential.

Fellowship Emolument 37000/- + 27 % HRA
Duration:
Initial appointment for 1 year which will be extendable till the duration of this project based on
satisfactory progress of the candidate,
