Essential Qualification

 Obtained greater than 55% marks in 10th and 12th exams
 Obtained greater than 60% marks in graduation
 PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Physiology, Veterinary Sciences, or related fields
 Track record of publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals

Desirable Qualification/Experience

 Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, tissue handling, or rodent/large animal models
 Experience in ex vivo organ perfusion or handling intact biological organs
 Proficiency in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, ELISA, and cell viability assays
 Strong understanding of ischemia-reperfusion injury, immunology, or cancer biology
 Familiarity with clinical/surgical environments and human tissue ethics protocols

Job Description As a postdoctoral fellow in the Jain Lab at IIT Gandhinagar, your role would be to lead multiple projects for the biological evaluation of ex vivo preserved organs and development of tissue engineered models for diseases. The day-to-day responsibilities may include establishing and managing surgical models, perfusion protocols, and cell-based assay systems; performing cellular assays, histopathology, biochemical characterization, and molecular analysis; analyzing data and dissemination of results in reputed journals; and mentoring of Masters’ and/or PhD students in the lab, among other duties. You may also need to collaborate with surgeons/oncologists to source and process clinical tissue samples, engineers/designers to develop medical devices, or industry/startup partners to develop translatable technologies. Additionally, you may be required to support lab development activities such as purchasing equipment and supporting the development of new protocols and processes for the lab.
