University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences
(UM-DAE CEBS) is an aided institute of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Govt. of
India. Established in 2007, located on the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai, Mumbai.
UM-DAE CEBS offers a 5-year residential integrated M.Sc. programme with a DAE
Fellowship, as well as a multi-disciplinary Ph.D. programme for training students in addressing
basic science and societally relevant research problems.
With several state-of-the-art research
facilities on its campus, a dynamic academic atmosphere, and strong research collaborations
with nearby premier research institutes, UM-DAE CEBS is an ideal destination for those
seeking to pursue a research career in Basic and Applied Sciences.
The Centre invites online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the positions of
Assistant Professor, Reader, and Associate Professor. Applicants should possess relevant
work experience and an excellent academic record, including high-quality publications in
reputed journals and relevant teaching experience.

Research areas: Conduct fundamental and applied research on microorganisms,
investigating their physiology, genetics, evolution, and ecology.
Teaching: Should be able to teach courses such as Microbiology, Genetics, Ecology and
Evolution
Post code B02: Immunology / Neurobiology (Experimental) - (1 Assistant
Professor)
Research areas: Conduct fundamental and translational research on the
immune/nervous system, encompassing their development, function, and interactions,
to advance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting human
neurological or immunological functions.
Teaching: Should be able to teach courses such as Immunology/Neurobiology,
Developmental Biology, and Animal Physiology

Research areas: Development and application of computational, statistical, and
mathematical approaches to analyze, model, and interpret complex biological data.
